Our History

Timelessly nouveaux

As jewelers to royalty and discriminating connoisseurs since 1954, our designs are inspired by the singular beauty and grace of the art nouveau tradition. Many designs harken back to a time when great value was placed on the beauty of nature, intricately woven and interpreted in precious stones and metals. Our work, while not always purely art nouveau, is very much jewelry for today, remaining intriguingly timeless, assertive in its design yet distinctively feminine.

Craftsmanship over generations

The Kaufmann tradition began in 1954 by Emil Pius Kaufmann, a master jeweller and goldsmith of Swiss origin, who has earned five Diamonds International Awards for excellence in craftsmanship and artistry, the highest honor bestowed on a jeweler. Kaufmann de Suisse currently maintains two locations: the prestigious Worth Avenue boutique in Palm Beach and the fashionable Crescent Street store in Montreal. Today the company continues the founder’s traditions through the second generation, headed by Charles and Moneca Kaufmann, who contribute refreshing new designs that continually evolve to reflect the times.

All Kaufmann de Suisse jewelry is handcrafted in its entirety in our studios and is never outsourced in whole or in part. Old world craftsmanship and care goes into every piece we make.
